ABOUT COLLEGE (THE BRIEF HISTORY)

During the mid-seventies of 20th century, a few local élites of Kaptipada Block felt the necessity of setting up a college in this tribal area to promote higher education. It was housed in the Boys High school of Kaptipada for the session 1978-79. Subsequently, to be away from the din & bustle of the township of Kaptipada, the college embracing a tranquil atmosphere congenial to study & suitable for academic pursuits was shifted to the village of Nuasahi in the Badakhaladi Panchayat of Kaptipada Block, surrounded by the Sunei river in the east and the Tangarasuni hill in the west.

The Govt. has accorded Permanent Recognition from the session 2007-08 and From the session 2010-11 Science, Commerce stream have been opened. The college has been recognized by the UGC under 2(f) and 12B from the session 2011-12. Now the college imparting Honours in History, Political Science and Education in Arts and Accountancy in Commerce and Physics and Zoology in Science with 16 seats in each. In the year 2015-16 this institution imparted all honours education history political science odia philosophy in arts wing 64 in science and 64 in commerce.similarly in the session2016-17in arts stream128 seats with history education political science 32 seats each odia philosophy 16 seats each and in science64 seats in commerce64 seat with accountancy 48 seats.in the session 2017-18,2018-19,2019-20 in arts stream 128 seats in science 64 seats and in commerce 64 with all honours .

The institution has distinction of having highly qualified faculty members .A student friendly-library in the campus provides access to internet & also provides Reading Room facilities for staff & students. A play ground which exists in the college campus facilitates the students   for outdoor games. Keeping pace with the fast changing world, the institution has adopted innovative practices to fulfill the growing academic needs of the students. Thus this college has set a very clear vision, which is to build a thriving culture in disseminating knowledge to all sections of the society through value based education.
